A well-established planning consultancy is seeking a Town Planner to support its growing portfolio of large-scale residential and strategic development projects. With a strong reputation for delivering complex planning applications, environmental assessments, and sustainability-focused developments, they provide a dynamic and collaborative environment for professional growth.
The Role
This position offers the opportunity to work on major residential schemes, assisting in managing projects from inception to determination. The successful candidate will take responsibility for preparing planning applications, conducting research, and engaging with stakeholders to drive projects forward.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the preparation and submission of planning applications for large-scale residential projects
Conducting research and preparing planning statements, environmental reports, and policy assessments
Liaising with local authorities, clients, and technical consultants
Assisting in negotiations on Section 106 agreements and planning conditions
Providing strategic advice on planning policy, land promotion, and site development feasibility
Requirements
Three years of experience in a planning consultancy or local authority
A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (Honours or Master's level)
RTPI chartered status or actively working towards full membership
Strong understanding of UK planning legislation, policy, and development processes
Excellent report writing, communication, and analytical skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A full UK driving licence is beneficial but not essential
