Job Overview:

The SolidWorks and Inventor CAD Design Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and construction projects by creating accurate 3D models, detailed 2D drawings, and technical documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting surveys, collaborating on engineering solutions, and ensuring that all designs meet client specifications. Additionally, this role requires proficiency in using client portals for managing comments and obtaining drawing approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

3D Modeling and 2D Drafting:

Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor for various engineering and construction projects.

Ensure that all designs adhere to company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.

Engineering Support:

Collaborate with the engineering team to develop innovative solutions for welding and fabrication projects.

Conduct surveys and site visits to gather necessary data for design development.

Technical Documentation:

Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals.

Update and revise drawings based on feedback from clients and internal teams.

Client Interaction:

Use client portals to manage drawing submissions, track comments, and work towards obtaining necessary approvals.

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and incorporate feedback into design revisions.

Quality Assurance:

Review and validate designs to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with project specifications.

Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to enhance project outcomes.

Project Management:

Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines.

Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution from concept to completion.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field and experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in CAD design using SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor, preferably in an engineering or construction environment.

Proven experience in creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.

Skills:

Proficient in SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor.

Strong understanding of engineering principles, welding techniques, and construction methods.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.

Familiarity with client portals and drawing approval processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the welding or fabrication industry.

Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to welding and construction.

Knowledge of other CAD software and design tools.
