Our client who designs and manufactures production line equipment are keen to recruit an Automation Technician to design and programme PLC's, touchscreens and controls.

The role involves working with the electricians and panel builders to design and build the control system, program and commission the machines in house at the purpose built factory and at customers site so some worldwide travel is required on occasion.

37.5 hours per week on flexitime basis

Designing PLC based electrical control systems from design specifications.
Programming PLC, Touchscreen and Safety Configurable relay systems.
Configuring Remote I/O, servo motor and inverter drives
Integrating ancillary equipment into the production lines such as vision systems etc.
Fault finding on electrical control systems, PLC's, and hardwired systems
Commissioning, support, and service work at customers' sites Requirements:

Must have previous experience of PLC programming, touchscreens and controls
Must have a good understanding of electrical drawings, control panel specifications and design
A good understanding of Vision and SCADA systems is also required
Experience within the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous
Experience of explosive atmosphere regulations is desirable
Product training will be given on specialist machinery and equipment
Must be willing to undertake overseas travel on occasion
