An urgent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations Business Partner to join a growing group of engineering companies based in Eastleigh. This role is focused entirely on managing a high volume of active ER cases and providing hands-on support to line managers across the business.
This is an ideal position for someone between roles, or available immediately, who thrives in a busy environment and is confident delivering best-practice employee relations advice and case management from day one.
About the Role
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position requiring someone who is comfortable managing all aspects of ER casework. You’ll support managers on a wide range of cases including disciplinary, grievance, long-term sickness, performance, and capability, with many requiring direct involvement in investigations and documentation.
You will be the go-to person for all ER matters, ensuring a consistent, legally compliant, and people-focused approach across the group.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of approximately 40 ER cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, and performance.
Provide practical, solutions-focused advice to managers, ensuring cases are managed fairly and in line with employment law
Support managers directly – from drafting documents to conducting meetings – while also guiding them to take more ownership over time
Identify any inefficiencies in current processes and suggest improvements where appropriate
Collaborate with the incoming ERBP to embed stronger ER capability across the management population
Skills & Experience Required:
• Proven experience in a hands-on Employee Relations role, ideally managing high-volume casework across multiple business areas.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice.
• Ability to manage and close cases with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable drafting letters, case notes, and reports to a high standard.
• Confident supporting or leading investigations, including on-site where required.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Available to start immediately or within a few days' notice.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to other sites across the UK.
