Supporter Care and Database Officer
Wessex Cancer Support, 91-95 Winchester Road, Chandler’s Ford, SO53 2GG
To encourage long term fundraising income growth by providing exceptional donor care and administration; and supporting the fundraising team to deliver a wide range of fundraising activities including on and offline individual giving campaigns, fundraising events and promotions.
30 hours per week (Days/hours can be agreed, within limits of 9am – 5pm MondayFriday)
£20,800 per annum (based on FT of £26,000)
Principal Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for donors, through a dedicated fundraising inbox, email, telephone and face to face. Ensure that all donations are promptly receipted and acknowledged.
* Conduct quarterly thank you letter audits to ensure consistency and quality in donor communications.
* Accurately input and maintain supporter records in the Salesforce CRM system and work with team members across all departments to support with reconciliation of other databases.
* Ensure data integrity and compliance with GDPR and fundraising best practices.
* Record, process and reconcile donations, including Direct Debits, Standing Orders, and online giving platforms, and manage prompt banking of cash donations.
* Support the finance team with coding and tracking income across different fundraising streams.
* Work with the team to improve CRM processes and ensure effective data usage.
* Generate reports and insights to support fundraising strategy and wider fundraising activity.
* Provide administrative support for fundraising activities, including challenge events and community fundraising.
* Attend and contribute to team meetings.
* To attend events as required (including some evenings and weekends).
* Keep up to date with new developments, legal requirements, codes of conduct and best practice within the fundraising sector.
Essential Skills/Experience/Attributes
* Experience and good working knowledge of using a CRM, ideally within a fundraising setting or transferable alternative experience.
* Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills to build positive relationships both internally and with supporters and donors.
* Highly organised, with good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
* Experience of working in a supporter or customer care focused environment including experience of face-to-face contact with customers/supporters.
* Demonstrable initiative and determination, with willingness to take accountability for work.
* Ability to work alone and as part of a small team.
* Excellent computer skills: confident using Microsoft, email, internet etc.
