Are you enthusiastic, inspiring, and keen to start a career in Education? I’d love to hear from you!
As the new term begins, GSL Education is looking for individuals eager to gain experience working with children and within schools. We are seeking passionate individuals who are committed to building a career in working with young people. We offer both full-time and part-time roles, with flexible days to fit around your schedule.
As a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant, you’ll have the chance to work in a variety of schools, supporting children of different ages and abilities. No qualifications are necessary! For those with the right experience, we provide a Level 2 Teaching Assistant course free of charge—but you must bring the drive and passion to make a difference in the lives of children.
You will primarily support the class teacher in helping children, sometimes working 1:1 with pupils. The needs of the children can vary, and in some cases, they may have learning difficulties.
We encourage individuals with prior experience supporting children or vulnerable people to apply!
The role of a Teaching Assistant can be challenging, so patience, a friendly approach, and a good sense of humour are essential. If you’ve ever dreamed of working with children or stepping into education, I’d be delighted to help you take your first steps on this exciting journey!
The main duties as a Teaching Assistant will include:
Supporting the pupils in their education
Supporting and managing behaviour in line with school policies
Working with the class teacher to implement academic or social interventions
Supporting and delivering creative and innovative lessons
Using formative and summative assessment
Supporting with or assessing phonics following the school’s chosen program
Promoting independence with life skills
Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care
The ideal candidate will:
Have prior experience working with children or vulnerable adults
Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with us)
A fully checkable work history
Must have a driving license or be willing to use public transport to traverse Hull's delightful transport systems
Candidate must be in good mental and physical health and also must be a resilient and reliable individual
Must be able to work with vulnerable and challenging pupils in a school environment.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and the successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
