About the role:

As our new SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder, you will play a crucial role in supporting children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to implement individualized learning plans, provide targeted interventions, and create a positive, structured environment that meets each child’s specific needs.

This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2024. You will be an integral part of our school community, working alongside passionate educators who share your commitment to making a difference. Whether you’re supporting students one-on-one or in small groups, your patience, creativity, and understanding will be key to helping our students succeed.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

• A strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with ASD and effective strategies to support them.

• A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support children with ASD in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their individual goals.

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized learning plans and deliver targeted interventions.

• Create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment tailored to the needs of each child.

• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers, SENCO, and parents.
