About the opportunity:
As our Senior Category Manager, you'll drive category and sourcing strategies, manage suppliers, and ensure cost-effective procurement.
Key responsibilities:
* Supplier Management: Select and negotiate with top suppliers, optimize performance.
* Cost Control: Oversee budgets, implement savings strategies.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards and resolve issues.
* Strategic Sourcing: Develop plans to align with business goals and market trends.
* Contract Management: Negotiate and manage supplier contracts.
* Collaboration: Engage stakeholders, support project goals.
* Compliance: Ensure ethical practices and risk management.
Required experience:
* 7+ years in procurement or category management.
* Procurement or category management background in construction, manufacturing, or engineering would be beneficial
* Experience in transport or subcontractor procurement a plus
* Bid life cycle: Extensive experience in handling RFPs and tenders from kick off
* Relevant degree or CIPS qualified
* Strong leadership, communication, and strategic skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel.
* Must hold a valid UK Driving licence
