Overview

As a Route Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient scheduling and optimisation of transport operations. Working with cutting-edge planning software, you will create and manage routes that minimise costs, maximise efficiency, and meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Designing, planning, and scheduling optimal routes for drivers, factoring in distance, load sizes, and costs.

* Utilising route planning software and tools to improve route efficiency.

* Accounting for variables such as traffic, weather, and vehicle capacity to ensure smooth operations.

* Keeping accurate records of routes and making adjustments as necessary.

* Resolving any issues or challenges that arise during the transportation process.

* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local and regional transportation laws and regulations.

* Coordinating with customers, clients, and drivers to provide real-time updates on transportation status and estimated arrival times, while addressing any concerns.

* Continuously seeking improvements to enhance route planning efficiency.

* Monitoring and managing vehicle tracking systems.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a Route Planner or in a similar role.

* Proficiency in mapping software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong knowledge of safety and transportation procedures.

* A detail-oriented and organised approach to work.
