Elementa is recruiting for a Teacher of Science at this expanding secondary school in Weston-super-Mare. This is a fixed-term contract until December 20th 2024, the timetable will be 70% science, with the remainder made up of general cover, mainly teaching key stage 3 but it will include some key stage 4 classes. All planning will be provided and resources prepared, but the role will involve marking.

The right candidate will hold a UK QTS qualification, alongside an honours degree in a relevant subject, and will have experience teaching across at least two key stages. You will have a good understanding of the requirements of the science national curriculum and the skills to engage all learners effectively. You will be a proactive member of the team, demonstrating initiative and a can-do approach, as well as being agile and able to respond to the changing needs in your environment. You will have an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation and implement this in accordance with trust-wide and school policies.

Responsibilities include:

Teaching across Key Stages 3&4

Maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge

Lesson planning and delivery of engaging and inspiring lessons

Assessments and statutory reporting requirements for parents and carers
