Career Teachers have an exciting new opportunity for a proactive and engaging Behaviour Mentor to join the pastoral team of a secondary School based in Sandwell. This is a full-time role to start as soon as possible, time only.

You will be working within a popular and vibrant secondary school based in Sandwell who are committed to providing a high standard of education for pupils between the ages of 11-16. They pride themselves on their dedication to ensuring every child receives a first-class education and achieves their full potential.

You will be working under the direction of the inclusion and behaviour manager, providing support to small groups of students across key stage 3 and 4. Delivering pre-planned lessons, managing student behaviour and to overcome barriers to learning, inspiring children and helping pupils reengage with education.

This is a challenging yet hugely rewarding role. We are keen to hear from passionate, caring, and resilient behaviour mentors who are enthusiastic and commitment to make a difference.

Requirements:

A minimum of 6 months experience of supporting children and young people on a one-to-one and small group basis in either a mentoring, cover supervisor, learning support assistant or teaching assistant capacity
Passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential.
Able to build confidence and motivation.
Approachable, and able to build robust and effective relationships with students.
Able to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict.
High levels of empathy, caring, compassionate, and a good listener
Motivated and enthusiastic, with a professional approach to work
Excellent administrative skills
Eligibility to work within the UK.
Hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
Have up-to-date safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer a FREE online Safeguarding training course
Able to provide a minimum of 2 x references to cover the last 2 years of employment history.
