SEND Teaching Assistant - Immediate Start

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive team in a mainstream secondary school located in Southwark. This is a full-time, long-term role lasting until the end of the academic year, offering an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives.
Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to help them reach their full potential.
Work closely with teachers to implement individualised education plans (IEPs), adapting lessons and materials to suit students' specific needs.
Support students in and out of the classroom with both their academic work and social development.
Use a patient, caring approach to help students build confidence and independence.
Foster a positive learning environment, promoting respect, understanding, and an inclusive classroom culture.
Collaborate with the school's SEND team, teachers, and parents to ensure consistent support for each student's educational journey.
Monitor and record student progress, sharing insights with teaching staff to further enhance student support.Requirements:
Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
Experience with SEND students, with an understanding of various learning difficulties and strategies to support diverse needs.
DBS Certificate on the update service (essential).
Strong communication skills, patience, and a commitment to inclusivity.
