We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Lead EAL Teaching Assistant on behalf of a welcoming and diverse secondary school committed to helping students thrive academically and socially.
As the Lead EAL Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting EAL students in developing their English language skills. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you’ll provide targeted language support, create engaging resources, and foster a welcoming learning environment. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring students overcome language barriers and fully participate in school life.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted English language support to students, both in groups and individually
Develop and implement resources to aid language development and boost student engagement
Work alongside teachers to adapt classroom content and enhance accessibility for EAL students
Support students in understanding and completing their assignments across various subjects
Mentor and guide other teaching assistants in providing effective EAL support
Track student progress and collaborate with teachers to adjust support strategies as needed
What We’re Looking For:
Relevant experience or qualifications in supporting EAL students within a school setting
Strong understanding of language acquisition and inclusive practices
Excellent communication skills, patience, and an empathetic approach to student needs
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and lead by example
A proactive, resourceful, and positive mindset that encourages student growth
