Fire Extinguisher Technician

£27,000 - £31,000 per year (depending on experience)

Onsite role with travel required to customer premises throughout East Midlands. Company offices are based in Leicester. You will be working Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm although most sites like you to be on site at 7 or 7.30am so where that occurs, finish will be earlier.

Are you experienced in servicing and maintaining fire extinguishers?

We are recruiting Extinguisher Technicians on behalf of a 28-year established fire protection company. They are accredited by BAFE, ISO 9001, Safe Contractor, and CHAS. This is a full-time onsite role that involves handling day-to-day tasks related to fire extinguisher maintenance and installation. These include:

Inspection and Testing of Fire Extinguishers: You will inspect fire extinguishers to ensure they are in proper working condition. This includes checking the pressure gauge, looking for any physical damage, and ensuring that the extinguishers are easily accessible and appropriately mounted.

Maintenance and Servicing: You will perform routine maintenance on fire extinguishers, which may include cleaning the exterior, replacing any damaged or missing parts, and refilling or recharging the extinguishers as needed.

Record Keeping and Documentation: After each inspection or service, the technician records the details of the work performed. This includes updating service tags, logging inspection dates, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Installation of New Fire Extinguishers: You may install new fire extinguishers in buildings or facilities, ensuring they are placed in strategic locations that meet fire safety codes and regulations.

Training and Consultation: You will be providing training to building occupants on the proper use of fire extinguishers and offer consultations on fire safety practices, helping clients to understand and comply with fire safety standards.

Are you a potential match for this vacancy?

·        You must have previous experience in servicing and maintaining fire extinguishers.

·        You must have a full UK driving licence and be happy travelling around the East Midlands and working onsite at customer premises.

·        This position will require an enhanced DBS application upon commencement of employment.
