Senior Electrical Project Engineer - £70,000 - £80,000 + £5,000 Car allowance + Travel + Healthcare + Pension.
Location: Oxford
They are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to assist in the Electrical element on a fast and complex project in Oxford. Based in an ever growing science park, this scheme is a £30m MEP scheme on a new build laboratory and pharma space.
Preconstruction has begun with the install beginning around Q2 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to take the project from pre-construction through to handover. Key to this role is relationship management, team coordination and project reporting. The position will be supported by a team of engineers, construction managers and supervisors
Role/Responsibilities:
* Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
* Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
* Technical submittals
* RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
* Value Engineering where applicable
* Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
* Health & Safety management (RAMs)
* Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey.
* Management of variations
* Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
* Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
* Overseeing commissioning stages
* Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover
The ideal candidate:
* Will be familiar working in a fast pace environment
* Experience working in the commercial sector
* Experience managing projects to a minimum of £6M within your own discipline
* A minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior management role
* Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as ISg, Lend Lease, Sir Robert McAlpine and Mace.
* The candidate will show longevity in previous employment
