Electrical Design Engineer

Based in Bristol’s Wapping Wharf, the office is ideally located amongst local heritage and cultural amenities. The team is working on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in Bristol, across the UK, and globally. From cutting-edge manufacturing and industrial facilities like the Manufacturing Technology Centre to long-standing government and defence contracts such as Aspire Defence, and from award-winning education developments to major new residential communities, the team is supporting schemes across a wide range of sectors.
An opportunity has arisen for the position of Senior Electrical Engineer. Working as a key member of the team, the successful candidate will have the autonomy to design Electrical services across various sectors of the industry and be client-facing, representing the company.
To fulfil this role, the candidate should be degree qualified, or in the process of obtaining their degree (or equivalent), demonstrate suitable design experience in the building services sector (preferably across a variety of sectors), and be an effective communicator, both verbally and in the production of reports and specifications.
Key Requirements:
Experience using recognised design software tools such as REVIT, and ideally exposure to MagiCAD.
Excellent communication skills, adaptable both externally with clients and internally within the team.
Ability to understand project needs and manage full delivery.
Recognised qualifications in Electrical services design, with a focus on working towards Chartered Status or an interest in doing so.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver projects.
Experience in people management is desirable.
Willingness for future flexibility in terms of co-operation, travel, and inter-office working.
In-house expertise for Electrical enquiries.
The team now carries out projects in a 3D environment and is rolling out StabiCAD design tools across all offices. While detailed knowledge of this software is not essential (training will be provided), an awareness of working in a 3D environment is required, along with knowledge of cable sizing and lighting design software.
