Academics LTD is working with a specialist school in Reading that provides tailored support for children aged 5 to 18 with a range of mental, emotional, and social needs. The school is seeking a resilient and proactive Youth Mental Health Support Worker to join their team. This role offers the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside qualified SEN professionals and psychologists.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborating closely with external specialists and psychologists
Supporting children with Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Helping students develop emotional regulation and social interaction skills
Demonstrating a passion for working with children or an interest in the SEN field
Having a positive, energetic attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressureThis position is ideal for graduates looking to gain experience in an educational setting or for those who want to pursue a career in Psychology or Mental Health. Prior experience is not required, but relevant qualifications such as a Degree, Level 3 qualifications, or any experience working with SEN children will be considered valuable.
This is also a fantastic opportunity for anyone exploring careers in Education, Teaching, or Mental Health. The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis and in groups with children who face behavioural challenges, sensory issues, and communication difficulties, making it a unique chance to develop essential skills in this field.
Position Details:
Role: Youth Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Reading
Salary: £83 - £95 per day (dependent on experience, training, and qualifications)
Contract: Long-term temporary with the possibility of becoming permanent
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
