Supply Chain Buyer Manchester (Trafford Park)

Due to continued growth, we are currently supporting our client to recruit a Buyer to be based at their site in Manchester (Trafford Park)

They are a well established nationwide business that due to winning a new contract has a requirement for an additional Buyer to join the team.

You will be required to develop strong and lasting relationship with supply partners and help to negotiate the best deals for the group, whilst considering quality, cost and timely delivery of products. You’ll be involved in the effective management and optimisation of the flow of stock and implementation of the order fulfilment process. You will ensure the business remains within defined inventory targets and work with colleagues and management to identify improvement of service and products. Resolving invoice queries and be involved in project work and benchmarking.

They are looking for;

* Previous Supply Chain/purchasing background

* Knowledge of the engineering consumables/fasteners would be beneficial but not essential as other experience will be considered.

* Exposure to ERP and MRP systems

* Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office with a sound grasp of Excel

* An effective communicator, with good verbal and written communication skills.

* Customer and supplier focused – driven to provide consistently high levels of service.

* A desire/drive to improve upon the above skill sets or demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop within the role.

Full training for the role will be provided.
