We are a modern family run business with over 40+ years of experience growing, packing, processing onions. We have been farming locally since 1946 and have a strong UK geographical spread throughout Lincolnshire and Norfolk with approx. 2,000 acres of land between 39 growers producing over 10,000t of onions. In 1979, we launched a packing operation to broaden our offering and support our retail partners while improving our capacity and efficiency. In addition, in the mid 80’s we expanded our supply base by importing globally from 8 countries.

The Position
* Carrying our scheduled cleaning tasks, using cleaning equipment, chemicals, and sanitisers
* Deep clean of production areas, handling and dilution of cleaning chemicals
* Dismantling and assembly of factory machinery to ensure an effective hygiene clean has taken place
* Maintain & repair hygiene equipment – foamer units, dosing units, hoses and hose guns
* Report any engineering issues that need attention as part of machinery strip downs
* Working to hygiene schedules and recording of hygiene tasks that have taken place
* Ensure you work safely, following specific cleaning instructions regarding Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements for individual tasks. Focus on responsibility to lock off, isolate and release of equipment
* Ensure all PPE and safety equipment is used in line with guidance. Complete post cleaning administration to ensure the hygiene plan is adhered to and attained. Highlight any areas of concern regarding adherence to the Team Leader and Supervisor
* Ensure all orders are collated and out loaded for dispatch whilst adhering to timescales and company policies, rules and procedures
* You may be required to carry out a small amount of production duties in such case of a breakdown or other unforeseen business circumstances
Person Specification
* Experience in food industry hygiene operations
* COSHH trained desirable but training can be given
* Able to work to time pressures
* Able to follow instructions, written and verbal
* A ‘can do attitude’ and attention to detail
