Accounts Assistant

£26k - £28k (DOE) + Benefits

Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm

Due to incredible growth, this reputable, award-winning property developer and landlord with over 50 years rental experience is looking to grow their friendly team in Leeds.

Reporting to the Finance Manager within the developing Finance Department, you will play an integral part of the business, ensuring suppliers are paid efficiently, reconcile tenant rental payments and be involved in the growth of this expanding team.

Duties and Tasks:

Accounts Payable

* Managing Invoices daily and loading them into Xero/Re-Leased/Hubdoc

* Ensuring that invoices are recorded in the correct period and allocated to set payment runs

* Managing queries, ensuring they are dealt with in a timely manner.

* Verifying works completed have been authorised and not overcharged.

* Building relationships/liaising with contractors and suppliers in resolving queries

* Adhere to internal/external controls and procedures to resolve issues.

* Working in line with GDPR.

* Working closely with the directors of the business in demonstrating initiative and exceptional organisational skills.

* Covering extra duties in the absence of the Finance Manager.

Accounts Receivable

* Reconciling Stripe and GoCardless

* Collection of rent arrears through early intervention using automated systems communicating with tenants by text, email, telephone.

* Reviewing and monitoring tenant rent accounts to determine status of collection from Stripe/GoCardless.

* Provide regular rental statements to identify current rent arrears and income.

* Raising Rent Invoices in advance

* Chasing outstanding payments relating to charges/invoices/damages when required.

* Comply with financial legislation and compliance.

* Setting up new accounts.

About You

* Minimum 2 years’ experience within a similar role

* IT literate in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, Excel

* Use of Xero/Re-Leased would be of benefit

* Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information

* Able to work solely using own initiative and part of a team

* Excellent communication skills

* Organised and able to work to strict deadlines

* Ability to show initiative in solving problems
