We have an exciting opportunity for a Supported Learning Lecturer with a focus on Creative Industries to join our team at our Cambridge Campus. You will join us on a Part Time (up to 22 hours per week) Fixed term basis to cover maternity up to September 2025 and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between £16,306.75 - 24,003.18 (Full time equivalent £27,425 - £40,369) per annum, plus staff benefits.
The primary purpose of this job role is to;
Provide effective teaching and learning development for students with learning disabilities in groups or on an individual basis in such a way as to enable them to access and successfully achieve their chosen programme of study.
The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to;
Act as course team lead and tutor to a group of students with Moderate entry level learning needs, leading on the Introduction to Creative Industries course.
Design schemes of work, learning resources and assessment schedules to enable RARPA outcomes and accredited qualifications to be captured.
Support the department’s internal Quality Assurance processes and respond to deadlines in preparing the accredited work for sampling.
Teach students English and maths at Entry and level 1, including preparing student for functional skills qualifications.
Identify the learning support needs of students to include:
5.1 Student’s learning disability and need for assessment
5.2 concerns over a student’s welfare
5.3 referrals to student services etc.
5.4 further English and Math’s interventions. barriers to learning i.e. ADHD, ASC, Asperger’s.
Track and monitor students EHCP targets over time and to support and monitor the tracking of the targets in line with RARPA processes.
Prepare and adapt learning materials in collaboration with the mentoring staff to enable all learners to make good progress on their programmes.
Direct LSM’s to ensure impact and rapid progress of learning.
Act as Course Team Lead and tutor to a given group of students. Hold regular tutorial meetings with students, liaise with parents, carers and key works and Local Authority professionals ensuring that intervention strategies from specialist therapists and other professionals are tracked and recorded as well as supporting mentors to implement their advice and strategies.
To undertake Proact-SCIP and first aid training for the Supported Learning Department.
Produce written reports to support EHCP meetings.
Be part of the cover rota to actively support colleagues in periods of absence or training.
Attend Welcome events to support initial advice, guidance and assessment activities
Participate in peer and developmental observations
Undertake appropriate training and development as agreed with the line manager

Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) or equivalent.
Level 4 + in either Subject Specific Specialism(Creative subject, art, drama, music, media) or Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)L5 – L7.
