We are seeking a determined and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for either primary schools or secondary schools around the Oadby area, The ideal candidate will be able to work closely with not only the Students but also their Subject Teachers, and Parents/Guardians alike, with the objective to promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being and academic success. This role is a developing role, meaning that with help from colleagues you must construct strategies to help students overcome challenges and thrive in their learning environment
Requirements:
* Teacher assistant experience - 1 years (preferred)
* Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willing to obtain)
* Safeguarding & KCSIE (or willing to obtain)
* Previous experience working with children with behavioural issues, SEN or SEMH
* Have previously worked in similar backgrounds such as: Social Work, Youth Care, or Mental Health Professionals
Responsibilities include:
* Conducting one-on-ones to support students with behavioural problems or Special Educational Needs, in turn aiding with behavioural issues across the school,
* Create a safe & supportive environment for students to express their feelings and concerns
* Tracking & assessing students’ progress, both academically and behaviourally, and helping them to restore stability in their education
* Work closely with SENCO and parents to create a support network for students
* Develop a personal initiative to foster a positive school culture and promote inclusivity

Please note that the salary range is so broad with this advert due to different school settings offering different salaries due to more hours/ additional responsibilities.
For the higher pay rate, you must have at least 2 years’ experience as a Teaching Assistant. This role is currently only a full time role
