ICT Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: MPS/UPS: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum
Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Part-Time, 0.4, Thursdays and Fridays

GSL Education are currently looking for dynamic and enthusiastic ICT Teacher specialising in teaching Key Stage 3 students (Years 7 and 8). The ideal candidate will work at a Client Secondary School located 13 miles north of York, starting as soon as possible.

About the School:

The school consists of students aged 11-16 was graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in quality of education and personal development in 2023.
With over 470 students, the school makes sure that every student graduates not only with the credentials required to continue their education or pursue their desired job path, but also with the abilities and self-assurance needed to actively participate in their communities.
They are dedicated to working for the equality of every student, irrespective of their situation, history, disability, or learning needs.
At Key Stage 5, the school collaborates with another Secondary School, where many of their students go on to university with others securing Apprenticeships or employment.
At this school students go through a mini-options process at the end of Year 8 to start customizing their curriculum.
ICT Teacher Requirements:

Hold QTS with a degree in ICT, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience teaching ICT at Key Stage 3 level, with a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes.
Strong understanding of the ICT curriculum, including key concepts such as digital literacy, coding, online safety, and the ethical use of technology.
Willingness to attend twilight CPD and parent’s evenings when required.
Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
ICT Teacher Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and effective ICT lessons that meet the needs of all students in Years 7 and 8, ensuring lessons are aligned with the national curriculum and school standards.
Contribute to the development of the ICT curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, up-to-date, and challenges students to develop their digital literacy and computational thinking skills.
Develop students' ICT skills, including digital literacy, coding, multimedia production, and data handling.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver a coherent ICT curriculum across key stages.
Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to keep abreast of advancements in ICT education and teaching methodologies.
Integrate various forms of technology into lessons to enhance learning experiences and help students develop a strong understanding of ICT concepts and applications.
