Central is currently recruiting for a part time Day Worker to work in the Lambeth, Islington and Bromley areas. The service provides support to tenants who are independent and are in recovery.

The successful candidate will be required to work 22.5 hours per week, 3 days a week. Days to work are; Thursday's and Friday's each week. The third day is flexible (either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday). Hours are 9AM - 5PM. Cover is required for approximately 3 - 4 months. The pay rate is £13.15 per hour, with £1.91 holiday pay, totalling £15.06 per hour.

Please note; this role is based across four services; 2 services in Lambeth, 1 service in Islington and 1 service in Bromley. The successful candidate will be provided with a laptop and phone.

In this position, you will be required to:
- Carry out weekly Health & Safety and building checks across four services; 2 services in Lambeth, 1 service in Islington and 1 service in Bromley
- Raise any maintenance issues with the relevant person
- Complete a weekly check of the residents in each service (residents are independent and are in recovery/abstinent)
- Signpost residents to appropriate services such as benefits
- Record each check/attempted check of the residents in the case management system
- Update the case management system/database with any records and notes
- Ensure the safety of residents by following safeguarding procedures, recognising and acting on any significant risk and escalating appropriately

Please note; this role involves loneworking.

To apply for this role, you must have:
- Experience working in services with people with support needs related to substance misuse
- Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety
- Experience carrying out building checks
- Experience reporting maintenance issues
- Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding
- Ability to use a computer to input data accurately, to communicate effectively through emails and to produce good quality reports

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
