As a School Caretaker or Premises Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our schools. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine maintenance tasks such as fixing minor plumbing issues, repairing fixtures, and ensuring general upkeep of school facilities. You will monitor the school premises to ensure safety and security, including locking and unlocking buildings, setting alarms, and managing access control. Regular health and safety checks will be part of your duties, ensuring all areas are compliant with safety regulations and reporting any hazards or concerns. Additionally, you will oversee cleaning operations and manage waste disposal, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment. Maintaining outdoor areas, including gardens, playgrounds, and sports fields, ensuring they are safe and presentable, will also be part of your role. You will assist with setting up for school events, moving furniture, and managing deliveries and inventories. Acting as a first responder in case of emergencies and coordinating with emergency services, if necessary, will be crucial.
