Head Bar Manager / Club Steward
We are a busy Committee led member’s club with over five hundred members in Yaxley, just outside Peterborough.
We have a member’s bar, and a function hall with a bar, this is used for private hire and our larger events. In addition we have a snooker room, a meeting room and kitchen facilities.
The Club is open daily, including bank holidays and Christmas and we have live music, events as well as various team events, made up of but not exclusive to Darts, Pool, and Bingo throughout the week.
Our current Steward is moving on after 12 years with us, so we have a rare opportunity for a full time Club Steward to start at the beginning of the new year and to be able to cover all aspects of managing the day-to-day running of the club.
Head Bar Manager / Club Steward - Summary:
The Club Steward is responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring the smooth running of the club and creating a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests. The Steward will be expected to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, manage the day-to-day running of the club, lead staff and handle financial transactions. They will also be responsible for planning and organizing special events, promotions and activities. The Club Steward should be an experienced professional with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Head Bar Manager / Club Steward - Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure the daily running of the club is in line with the club’s policies, procedures and regulations
• Ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained
• Manage bar, catering and cleaning staff, ensuring that they provide excellent customer service
• Handle financial transactions, including taking payments and balancing the till
• Plan and organize special events, promotions and activities
• Liaise with suppliers and other external stakeholders
• Monitor stock levels and order supplies as necessary
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to
• Training of staff
• Working hours vary but availability needs to be five days out of seven including weekends. A mix of day and evening shifts, flexibility is key. You will work closely with the Club Secretary and report to the Committee as required.
Head Bar Manager / Club Steward - Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Club Steward or similar role
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills​
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
• Good knowledge of food and beverage service
• Financial management experience
• A valid Personal License to serve alcohol
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Good IT skills
Competitive Salary dependant of experience
