Head of Security
Location: Corsham or Farnborough

About the Role:
Are you a security professional with a proven track record in leading high-performing teams? Do you have the vision and expertise to shape a comprehensive security strategy for a dynamic and fast-paced environment? We are seeking an exceptional Head of Security to spearhead our organisation's security operations and ensure industry-leading standards are consistently met.
As Head of Security, you will play a critical role in protecting our people, assets, and reputation. You will oversee all aspects of physical security, personnel vetting, and compliance, driving operational excellence and fostering a security-conscious culture across the organisation. Reporting directly to the Security Director, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence strategy at a senior level and lead transformative projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
Lead the Security & Vetting Team, ensuring their goals align with organisational strategy and security objectives.
Act as a key advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on security-related matters.
Foster a culture that prioritises security, integrity, and compliance across the organisation.

Operational Excellence:
Manage all physical security measures, working with third-party providers to ensure high standards of service delivery.
Develop, implement, and maintain robust security policies, procedures, and protocols in line with government and industry best practices.
Conduct regular physical penetration tests, security audits, and inspections to identify risks and enhance safeguards.
Oversee and manage the security contract budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with clients to address their specific security and vetting needs, including internal inspections and audits.
Assist with client site visits, showcasing our commitment to security excellence.
Act as a representative in both internal and external audits to ensure accreditation and compliance standards are met.

People Leadership:
Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing Security & Vetting Team, providing clear direction and support.
Drive employee engagement and performance through effective communication, training, and professional development initiatives.

Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure all builds hosting sensitive data meet mandated certification standards.
Advise on construction projects to ensure alignment with secure build standards and use of approved materials and equipment.
Manage emergency response plans and liaise with emergency services as needed.
Maintain and enhance vetting processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

Extensive experience in security management, including at least 10 years in a managerial role.
Proven expertise in managing security contracts, including budget oversight.
Strong people management and leadership skills, with a focus on team development and engagement.
Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
Experience in coordinating emergency responses and conducting audits or inspections.
Knowledge of government security standards and certifications (e.g., FSC, NPSA secure build standards).
Ability to achieve a high level of security clearance.
Desirable Skills:

Qualifications in risk management, equality and diversity, or customer service.
NVQ-level certifications in areas such as CCTV operations, access control, or security procedures.
