We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Extra Care Service Manager to lead our vibrant extra care service in London. Job Role:

The Extra Care Service Manager will be the driving force behind the smooth and efficient operation which provides independent living for individuals with disabilities who require care and support. Ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents. This role involves managing the provision of care and support services, overseeing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the extra care residences, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Inducting new residents, assessing and accruing new referrals.

Develop and implement operational procedures and policies in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Ensure the scheme is compliant with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and risk assessments.

Provide skillful and proactive relationship management, ensuring positive and productive relationships are established and maintained and that information sharing takes place across the delivery team, thereby facilitating best practice and continuous improvement.

1. Resident Welfare and Support:

Act as the main point of contact for residents, addressing any concerns, queries, or issues they may have.

Coordinate the provision of care and support services, ensuring that each resident's needs are met in line with their care plan.

Facilitate activities and events that promote social interaction and well-being among residents.

Maintaining the tenancy, providing support with benefits and coordinating the activities.

1. Staff Management:

Effectively manage staff within the team, including performance and absence management following guidelines provided through the relevant policies and procedures, tackling any issues as appropriate and ensuring that individual and team performance are met.

Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise care and support staff.

Manage staff rotas, ensuring appropriate cover for all shifts.

Lead team meetings and provide ongoing support and guidance to staff.

Budget and Resource Management:

Manage the scheme’s budget, ensuring that resources are used effectively and within financial constraints.

Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings or improved efficiency.

Ensure that the project works to agreed business and operational plans, meeting operational targets and meeting financial targets and budgets.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure the scheme meets all regulatory and legislative requirements, including those set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Conduct regular audits and inspections, implementing any necessary improvements to maintain high standards.

Handle complaints in accordance with company policy and strive to resolve issues promptly and effectively.

Operate within a quality framework ensuring that the project meets the standards required by the company and the commissioner.

1. Liaison and Communication:

Liaise with external agencies, including local authorities, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to ensure coordinated service delivery.

Maintain clear and effective communication with residents, their families, and other stakeholders.

Represent the scheme at meetings and events, both internally and externally.

Record Keeping and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records, including care plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.

Prepare and submit regular reports on the scheme’s performance, including occupancy levels, budget adherence, and staff performance.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

* Relevant qualification in social care (NVQ Level 4/5 in Health & Social Care), housing, or a related field.

* Management qualification or experience is desirable.

Experience:

* Two years’ experience working in a similar role within social care, housing, or an extra care environment.

* Proven track record of managing staff and delivering high-quality services.

Skills and Abilities:

* Strong leadership and management skills.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

* Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

* Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with tact and sensitivity.

* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Salary:

£28,000 - £35,000 based on experience

Working Hours:

37.5 hours per week

Additional Information:

* This role may require occasional evening or weekend work.

* A DBS check will be required for this role.

* A peripatetic role.
