Job description

WARD are looking for a motivated Warehouse Operative to join our busy textiles team at WARDrobe. The role includes receiving, checking, and packing goods into large bags. This is a physically demanding role as you will be required to fill large bags with clothes and shoes, which will be loaded via forklift when full. You will also spend part of the week carrying out ‘drivers mate’ responsibilities, assisting the drivers with the delivery and pick up of materials. To be successful as a warehouse Operative / Drivers mate you should be able to; pay attention to detail to ensure that stock is bagged correctly, have the ability to organise your time and workload, the ability to work well with others, good customer service skills and the ability to complete physically demanding tasks.

This role also has the opportunity of progression to take on further responsibilities, take on new challenges, and increase your skillset through training and development opportunities presented.

Flexible hours are required for this role as the shift times will differ depending on whether you are in the warehouse or out on drivers mate collections.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of being a Warehouse Operative include:

- Preparing bales/ bags of stock ready for sale

- Assisting drivers with textile collections

- Unloading of lorries containing stock

- Supporting the Warehouse Supervisor with stock management

- Preparing stock for loading

- Additional duties as directed by your Line Manager

Skills and Knowledge Required:

- Excellent personal approach to work

- Ability to multi-task

- Excellent time keeping

- Physically fit and ability to use correct manual handling techniques

- Conscientious and quality focused

- Good communication skills

- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

Material moving and Warehousing Occupations 1 years (preferred)

Warehouse Experience 1 year (preferred)
