Outreach Teaching Support – SEMH (Medway & Sheppey)

Maidstone, Kent
Apply Now

The Role
Are you tough, resilient, and ready to make a real impact? We’re looking for candidates who can handle the challenges of working with severe SEMH students who struggle to engage in traditional classroom settings. This outreach role involves travelling across Medway and Sheppey, delivering pre-prepared teaching resources directly to students in their homes and, in some cases, foster homes.
This isn’t for the faint-hearted. Students may be verbally abusive and, in some cases, display physical aggression. However, for those who can weather the storm, the reward is immense—you’ll be helping some of the most vulnerable young people in the education system find a path forward.
What You’ll Need
✅ Thick skin & resilience – this job will test you.
✅ A driving licence & access to a vehicle – travel is essential, but mileage costs are covered.
✅ Experience with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or youth work – ideal but not essential.
✅ A problem-solving mindset & patience – every day will be different.
Support & Training
While this role is demanding, you won’t be alone. You’ll receive strong support from the school trust and our agency, with guidance on de-escalation techniques, behaviour management, and safeguarding.
Why Apply?
✔ Make a real impact on students who need it most.
✔ Join a strong support network of professionals who have your back.
✔ All work-related travel expenses are covered – no out-of-pocket costs.
✔ A role where no two days are the same – if you thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment, this is for you
