Project Manager

£50-55,000

Full time, permanent, 39.5 hours Mon-Fri on site (early finish Fridays)

We're looking for a proactive Project Manager to join our engineering/manufacturing client, working closely with the Managing Director to oversee complex projects from initial planning through to successful delivery. You'll be the key point of contact for selected large contracts, ensuring seamless coordination across teams and maintaining clear communication with customers.

Key responsibilities:

Leading projects from planning to completion, ensuring key milestones are met

Acting as the main point of contact for major contracts, maintaining strong customer relationships

Supporting the sales and technical teams with tenders and project planning

Preparing detailed project plans, identifying dependencies and responsibilities

Chairing weekly and monthly project reviews, providing clear updates to management

Controlling and monitoring document submissions against project schedules

Supporting the preparation of production schedules and liaising with internal teams

Analysing project data to assess performance and identify improvements

Applying common project management processes across all contracts

Experience & Qualifications:

Proven experience managing projects in an engineering or manufacturing environment

Awareness of Quality Management Systems (ISO9001) and industry-specific standards

Key skills:

Strong project management and planning skills

Effective communicator at all levels, with strong interpersonal skills

Analytical mindset with a structured, logical approach to problem-solving

IT and mathematical ability for interpreting figures and statistics

Customer-focused with strong commercial awareness

Organised and able to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team

Experience in process optimisation and efficiency improvements is beneficial

An understanding of design for manufacture and lean manufacturing principles
