Our client, a leading entity in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Security Advisor to join their team in Barrow-in-Furness on a contract basis. This pivotal role will involve hybrid working arrangements, with 3-4 days per week required on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate as the Cryptographic Custodian on the Cryptographic materials account
Be responsible for the safe custody, registration, mustering, amendment, issue, safe handling, and disposal of Cryptographic Assets held
Collaborate with other security disciplines, facility management, and outside agencies to plan and deliver effective business-enabling security, creating resilient, secure working environments
Provide advice and guidance to business functions on the interpretation and application of applicable security policies, ensuring compliance
Represent the Security Department at internal and external meetings to promote the work of the department and ensure alignment with wider business values and objectives
Gather data, analyse and prepare reports or presentations to feed information back to teams/managers
Communicate security risks and issues to managers and others, and then apply and maintain specific security controls as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments
Develop and maintain appropriate Security Processes related to the scope area

Job Requirements:

Experienced and knowledgeable in cyber security within the defence and security sector
Completed an appropriate MoD recognised Custodian Training Course and have received certification of successful completion
Ability to handle Cryptographic Assets and act as the Cryptographic Custodian
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with other security disciplines, facility management, and external agencies
Proficient in providing advice on security policy interpretation and application
Excellent communication skills to represent the Security Department in meetings and relay critical information
Skilled in gathering and analysing data, and preparing comprehensive reports and presentations
Understanding of security risk management and the application of security controls
