Theo James Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to join a leading automotive business based in the Sunderland area. This exciting role focuses on New Product Introduction (NPI), where you will be responsible for ensuring the successful launch and continuous improvement of new products within the manufacturing process. Shift: Day shift
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee QA activities for new model launches, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Act as the primary customer liaison, managing part development countermeasures (PDR) within agreed timelines.
* Support the part development process, coordinating all joint check activities and ensuring quality standards are met.
* Represent the Quality Assurance team in new model project groups, collaborating with various departments, toolmakers, Tier 2 suppliers, and customers.
* Ensure ANPQP and IATF 16949 documentation and standards are maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
* Lead metrology responsibilities across the site, ensuring all inspection standards and QVCC requirements are aligned with ANPQP/EPMS.
* Interpret technical drawings and standards with accuracy, supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and PHA.
* Coordinate the submission and approval of supplied parts in accordance with ANPQP.
* Support launch-related activities, including SOP ramp-up, Gate Reviews, and Shipment Judgement Meetings.
Requirements:
* Experience in IATF16949 auditing, automotive manufacturing and New Product
* Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are advantageous.
* Proven experience in a similar role within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of ANPQP management and related systems and processes.
* Experience in plastics would be desirable
