Principal Civil/Structural Engineer
Sellafield (4 days on Site - 1 day WFH per week)

£60-65 per hour (Umbrella)
 
Our client is a leading engineering company, supporting Nuclear projects at Sellafield
They seek a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to join their busy team and assist them in completing a critical project on the Sellafield Nuclear site.
 
Due to the nature of the project, this role requires site presence at Sellafield 4 days a week, working from the construction office. 1 day working from home is agreeable for the project
 
As a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for:
·Leading and managing other engineers and their workload, to budget and programme, as required.
·Providing engineering support to the construction and commissioning teams as required
·Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the permanent works design team at Sellafield's site in Warrington, on-site construction teams to ensure any engineering issue that arise are resolved as quickly as possible.
·Responding to technical queries, product permits, concessions and non- conformances in a timely manner.
·Interfacing on the construction site with site personnel daily, intervening as necessary to ensure the intended engineering design is delivered as to brief and specification.
·Producing and checking structural calculations (steelwork, concrete and masonry), technical reports and details as necessary for site modifications (in liaison with the Sellafield team)
·Review contractor RAMS, inspection plans etc
·Participate in and attend walk downs, meetings and reviews as required
 
To be successful, you must have experience in or hold:
 
·Degree qualified
·Chartered Engineer (desirable)
·Nuclear industry experience (preferred but not essential)
·A pro-active, self-starter with good communication, analytical and team working skills.
·Understanding of CDM Regulations and duties as a Designer.
·Experience with Design packages (ideally STAAD Pro and Navisworks)
