On behalf of a fantastic purpose-built Elderly Care Home in the West Byfleet area, Pure Care are now seeking a Maintenance Worker or Handyman to join their team on a full time, permanent contract. This will be working Monday to Friday (37.5 hours) with flexible shifts to suit the successful applicant.

* Full time, permanent role

* Monday to Friday (e.g. 7-3, 8-4, 9-5, flexibility with shifts)

* £13.50+ per hour

* £14ph for any weekend hours worked as extra

As the full-time Maintenance Worker / Handyman you will take responsibility for resolving any home maintenance concerns promptly, ensuring that the care home is a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Key duties will include PPM and reactive work, ranging from fire alarm tests through to basic plumbing and decorating duties.

You must have good knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, and have the ability to assess and manage risk. Importantly, you must also have the ability to work on your own initiative and address potential issues as they may arise before they affect the daily running of the Care Home.

Our client is an attractive 40 bedded Care Home specialising in elderly care with a great reputation. The Care Home is located just a short distance from multiple bus stops and there is also free on-site parking.

Care Home Handyman responsibilities

* Identify and carry out repairs and improvements in accordance to the Care Home’s procedures and quality standards.

* Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times within the Home, reporting any incidents, accidents, infections or hazards/ faults.

* Carry out all required tests and checks for various systems of the care home on weekly, monthly and annual basis.

Care Home Handyman skills/experience

* Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills

* Previous experience as a Maintenance Assistant, Handyman or Maintenance Worker is preferred

* Relevant qualifications would be beneficial but not essential
