Location: Newton Aycliffe
Position: Compliance Manager
Type: Permanent Contract
Working Hours: Monday-Friday (Day Shift)
Salary: £35-40k per annum

About the Role:
As a Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the company’s operations adhere to legal standards and internal policies. You will oversee all compliance processes, manage risk, and ensure that the business is fully compliant with regulatory requirements within the logistics and transportation industry. You will work closely with internal teams to implement compliance strategies, identify areas for improvement, and provide expert advice on compliance-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the company is fully compliant with all relevant UK regulations, industry standards, and internal policies related to logistics and transportation.
Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures, ensuring that they are consistently updated to reflect changes in regulations.
Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks across the company’s operations.
Work with department heads to ensure a compliance-focused culture throughout the organization.
Oversee the investigation of compliance issues, responding appropriately and taking corrective action when necessary.
Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Provide compliance training and guidance to employees to raise awareness and ensure adherence to policies.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of necessary documentation.
Stay up to date with changes in legal regulations and logistics industry standards, and assess their impact on the business.
About you:
The ideal candidate will hold professional qualifications in compliance or risk management
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of health and safety regulations within logistics.
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with risk management and audit processes.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a compliance management role, preferably within the logistics, transportation, or supply chain sectors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards in logistics
The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop and implement effective compliance programs.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
