Principal Structural Engineer

£50,000 - £60,000 depending on level/experience

Our client is a forward looking Engineering Consultancy with a reputation for providing high quality practical solutions to engineering problems.

The practice has an extensive experience of a wide range of projects including several major projects with construction values exceeding £100m.

This experience includes building structures works in many construction sectors including:

Residential (Apartments and specialist accommodation); Health; Schools and Colleges; Manufacturing (Heavy and Light); Distribution; Offices; Leisure; Retail (Shopping Centres and Retail Parks).

They have an opportunity for a principal level Structural Engineer to join their team based in central Birmingham, who will be responsible for managing structural design, working as a key member of a team delivering detailed design including full tender and construction packages. Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and regulatory/statutory authorities, you will assure design quality and profitable project delivery.

You will play an active role in handling clients, design and site meetings, and reporting and take responsibility for the completion of the project execution plans.

They are seeking candidates with a minimum BEng or MSc in civil or structural engineering and be a Chartered Member of the ICE or IStructE. Ideally, you will have a track record in the design of building structures and will be a first class communicator with excellent analysis and technical design skills.

This is a permanent position, offering progression to a senior leadership role within the business.

Salary is negotiable but will be commensurate to experience for a high level structural engineering professional
