Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Electrician to join our clients dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on our bespoke winter maintenance vehicles, where you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of auto electrical installations, modifications, and fault-finding.
Our client is the UK’s largest manufacturer and supplier of winter maintenance vehicles, specialising in gritters, snowploughs, and other essential winter maintenance and highways equipment.
Hours
Working 39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm and Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm with an hour for lunch each day.
Responsibilities
– Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in both vehicle chassis and bodies.
– Run wiring looms, install and configure vehicle lighting systems, and perform terminations for control looms and associated equipment.
– Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, ensuring all systems are fully operational.
– Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings to complete accurate installations.
– Ensure all electrical work is completed in compliance with company standards and relevant health and safety regulations.
Experience
– Proven experience as a vehicle electrician, ideally within the commercial vehicle sector.
– Strong knowledge and practical experience with 12V and 24V systems.
– Ability to work on complex wiring systems, including experience with vehicle body lighting and control systems.
– Competence in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults.
– Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
