A leading manufacturer, based in Newmarket, seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join the team to support the procurement of materials critical to their production operations.
• Research and select vendors who can supply raw materials, components, or equipment
• Establish favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards
• Purchase raw materials, parts, or services required for manufacturing
• Ensure purchases are cost-effective without compromising quality
• Managing Stock Levels
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials when necessary
• Inspect incoming goods to ensure they meet quality specifications
• Address any issues with defective materials or late deliveries.
• Monitoring Trends
• Working with Production Teams and coordinating with finance
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving cost efficiencies and favorable terms.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficient in inventory management and ERP software.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make informed decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.
