Manpower is recruiting for an Office Manager to manage our clients' operations at their office in Leith, Edinburgh. As an office manager you will be supporting all operations of the business and providing critical support to all projects. This is a role in the trades industry so any experience in working within trades would be advantageous. Knowledge of risk assessments, health and safety practises and managing a team is essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced office manager to join a well-established client in their sector and be part of a well know business in the area.
Hours: Monday to Friday - 08:00 - 16:30
Salary: £28-35K DOE
Start Date: 06 January
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage the Office Assistant, delegating tasks to ensure efficient
office performance.
Act as the primary point of contact for the business, managing residential and
commercial client relationships.
Resolve escalated customer complaints with professionalism and efficiency.
Create detailed risk assessments and method statements for jobs, ensuring
compliance with safety and industry standards.
Manage audits as required, maintaining high standards of compliance and
organisation.
Oversee the preparation of roofing tenders, quotes, and invoices, and chase
payments as needed.
Work closely with the Contracts Manager and Director to coordinate job
planning and align office operations with company objectives.
Manage tradesmen, including job scheduling and performance monitoring.
Request guarantees and oversee staff enrolments in college and training programmes.
Monitor office performance and implement improvements to enhance
efficiency.
Manage staff credit cards and fuel cards, ensuring proper usage and accurate
tracking.
Collect, review, and send staff timesheets to the accounts team, ensuring
accuracy and following up on any discrepanciesExperience and skills required:
Experience :
Extensive experience in the trade industry and in particular roofing.
Familiarity with the roofing tender process, job scheduling, and
compliance requirements.
Proven ability to create risk assessments and method statements for
construction jobs.
Skills & Qualities:
Excellent organisational and delegation skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities, including handling escalated
complaints.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office
management systems.
A quick and accurate typist with a professional and clear telephone
manner.
Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced
