Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services / Nuclear)

£50k - £70k + Packagedependant on skills and experience.

Our client is a leading building services company who have a long history of delivering MEP installations on high-profile construction projects, UK-wide. They are owned by a multi-national energy company and are looking to take on building services engineers who they will upskill to work on major projects within the nuclear industry.

Some temporary works packages at Hinkley Point have been awarded and our client is looking to take on a Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineers:
 
To create and implement temporary building services design solutions for the Hinkley ‘C’ Common Building Services.
To ensure the integration, technical assurance, compliance, health, safety and sustainability of design and engineering to enable compliant defect free handover for operational service, delivered to programme and budget.
Coordination with the Principle Designer and Principle Contractor ensuring regular flow of information to comply with meeting the requirements of CDM.
Part of the CBS mechanical design team to provide design solutions including but not limited to Ventilation, LTHW, CHW & CWS piped services, wastewater drainage.
Collaborate and share relevant information between design services to ensure no elements of integration are left out of the final designs.
Create the following documentation:
Specifications
Datasheets
Calculations
Schedules
Drawings
Review and check vendor document / information for electrical compliance with project specifications.
Support the Design Manager and contribute to design / construction reviews & sign off.
Ensure design risks are considered and prepare design risk assessments. Communicate residual design risks to others.
Provide strong technical support and identify innovative and robust solutions.
Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers.
Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineers need 4 years + experience in building services engineering design – major projects experience essential. Full training & education covered for your future development as a design engineer in the nuclear industry
