Service Co-ordinator

36 hours per week Monday to Friday
Office based - Barkingside
Temporary contract - 3 months with the view of extension.
£17.54 per hour PAYE / £22.71 per hour Umbrella The team are looking for a new starter that can take minutes, slot within a busy environment, work well under pressure, has excellent organisational skills, and can complete administration duties. The role itself will be working closely with the Chair and managers of the CPAT action follow up tasks, minute taking 2 meetings per week, learn to understand the structure of social services and the acronyms within the department. The successful applicant will need to have exceptional punctuality, be a team player and have an interest within the position.

Role Purpose: To assist the Head of Service and the management team to provide a high quality service, safely, professionally and within agreed or reasonable timescales.

Daily contacts: All social work staff and managers within children's social care. MPs, Residents, all relevant external agencies including Central Government Departments and Officers in other Local Authorities.

Duties:

The post holder will build and maintain good referral pathways and relationships with key stakeholders in the department and in the community. They will be part of a team including professional staff that delivers services to children and vulnerable families.
Take ownership of a number of business critical pieces of work involving legal issues and child protection queries, resolving routine non-complex issues and escalating more complex issues to the Manager and/or the Head of Service
Produce and maintain Excel spread sheets and ensure that high-level data remains accurate
Liaise with the management team and professional workforce in order to monitor the progress of works and feedback on completion
Assist social workers in coordinating the legal workspace, this includes training, monitoring and feedback
Analyse proposed legislation, regulations, or rule changes to determine how the agency services could be impacted
Contribute to improving the business, by putting forward new ideas and, when requested to do so, implementing change
Manages documentation, including contracts, staff and clients records
To maintain at all times a courteous, helpful and polite response to members of the public, Council Members, outside agencies and staff from other sections of the Council
To undertake any other duties appropriate to this area of work and consistent with the level of the post as may be required from time to timeExperience Required:

Relevant experience
Effective level of IT competence including MS Office and other IT systems and software packages.
Ability to gain and/or apply a range of knowledge, skills and understanding at a detailed. May be evidenced by: A levels; NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualifications, or evidence of demonstrable application in the course of experience.
