Warehouse Manager (019jc) – Beckenham – £40 to 50k + Benefits
This client who are a niche events management company are now seeking to recruit a Warehouse Manager to lead their team at one of their depot locations in this demanding and key role within the company.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
You will be reporting to the Director of Operations, and you will have full day to day responsibility of the warehouse function as well as a team of between 10 to 12. The management team have a shared commitment that the company will provide a profitable delivery of services combined with outstanding standards of quality within the management of resources, the delivery of services to each other and to our clients.
Within the above commitment you are responsible for the part of delivery that includes:
* Full day to day management of the team, which will include ongoing training and development including mandatory training needs, recruitment, discipline, payroll/Timesheets, and delegation of tasks and responsibilities.
* Providing overall management and ensuring deliverables are achieved by the team, as well as implementing procedures to reduce errors and loss/damage to stock
* Ensuring that stock leaving the warehouse returns in the condition of which it left including all accessories and ensure all equipment is maintained and tested
* Maintaining and updating the inventory system, making sure it is as accurate as possible.
* Liaising, both internally and externally as required
* Making sure that warehouse is clean, tidy and organised at all times
* Working closely alongside the existing team and interacting with other departments such as Operations, Project Managers and Venue Partnership, on a daily basis
* Oversight of kit, preparing for events in a timely distribution
* Maintenance of company assets
* Ensure Health & Safety policies is enforced, such as COSHH, and keeping up to date with all new legislation as needed. Alos carrying out HSE and Risk Assessments as needed and keeping them updated and current.
* New members of staff have the option to visit some of their venues in order to see the areas we are prepping in.
To be eligible for this role you will need the following:
* Experience working in a warehouse or logistics
* Demonstrable customer service experience
* Computer literate
* Service improvement experience
* A creative but logical analytical approach to problem solving
* A self-starter, capable of working on own initiative with a drive to achieve goals and a willingness to be accountable
* Meticulous attention to detail, including documentation standards
* Personable and able to relate to build good working relationships with colleagues at all levels
* Ability to interact effectively with regulatory authorities or statutory bodies
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines
* Ability to work on own initiative and commitment to team working
* Have a flexible, adaptive and proactive approach
The ideal candidate would be someone who may have a technical stores background, as you will be responsible for the hi-tech equipment they use in their shows/exhibitions and once returned, you and your team will be responsible for making sure that all such equipment is fully accounted for and is fit for purpose when next needed.
