About the job you’re considering

We are currently seeking a Functional Consultant specializing in Electrical Design.
You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between our technical and business teams. Your expertise in electrical design, coupled with experience in Capital, and an understanding of integration with NX and Teamcenter, will enable you to provide valuable insights and solutions that enhance our product development lifecycle.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.​

Your role

• Provide electrical engineering expertise and guidance to support the use of Capital for electrical design projects.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the integration of Capital with NX and Teamcenter, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability between systems.
• Develop and implement best practices for electrical design processes, leveraging Capital, NX, and Teamcenter functionalities.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members on the effective use of Capital and integration with NX and Teamcenter.
• Work closely with IT and development teams to customize and optimize Capital, NX, and Teamcenter solutions to meet specific project needs.
• Train and support end-users, ensuring they are proficient in using the deployed software for electrical design and analysis.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the electrical design process and system integrations.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in electrical design, Capital, NX, and Teamcenter, and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

Your skills and experience

ESSENTIAL:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in using Capital for electrical design and engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of NX (Siemens NX) and its integration with Capital.
• Experience with Teamcenter and its role in managing product lifecycle and data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in electrical design and engineering.
• Defence contract: SC or higher security (currently holding or eligible).
• Defence contract: Must Hold a UK Passport, Dual National not eligible.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

DESIRABLE:
• Certification in Capital, NX, or Teamcenter
• Experience in the Marine Industry sector.
• Understanding of BOM structures with particular interest in a Mechatronics BOM would be an advantage. * Strong understanding of shipboard electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards such as ABS, DNV, and IMO requirements for ship electrical systems.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to marine electrical systems and incorporate them into design processes.
