GSL Education is looking for dedicated and passionate SEN LEARNING MENTOR in Plymouth. 

Position: SEN LEARNING MENTOR
Location: Plymouth
Salary:   £83.33 per day
Start Date: Immediately

You’ll be working with our team in Plymouth, children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You’ll be there to help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self-esteem. You will need to be resilient and dedicated, but those huge small victories that you achieve will be something you’re really proud of.

1:1 KS3-4 SEN TA - ASD/ SEMH - Candidates with Drving licence are wanted

Experience and Qualifications:

Relevant experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
Skills and Abilities:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
Ability to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support learning activities tailored to the needs of SEN students.
Proficiency in using educational technology and resources to support learning.
Personal Attributes:

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children with diverse needs.
Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
Commitment to promoting inclusion and acceptance of all students.
Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 support to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
Assisting with the development of social skills and emotional regulation.
Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to plan and deliver tailored support.
Monitoring and reporting on student progress and adapting support strategies as needed.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.
