Typically, this person will be an experienced Mig welder with experience on ship repair
Day to day duties and responsibilities of the Welder:
* Perform MIG welding on ships, including hulls and structural components.
* Read and interpret technical drawings and follow welding specifications.
* Repair and modify ship structures to meet MOD standards.
* Work with materials like steel, aluminium, and stainless steel.
* Ensure welds pass non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections.
* Operate and maintain MIG welding equipment safely.
* Follow health, safety, and security protocols in a marine environment.
Requirements Of the Welder:
* Proven experience in MIG welding, preferably in marine or defence.
* Welding certification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of welding techniques and metallurgy.
* Experience working with military contracts is a plus.
* Ability to work from complex technical drawings.
* Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
