Head of Year (None-Teaching)

Short term supply position, full-time
A large, well respected mainstream secondary school in Worcester are looking for a Head of Year (none teaching) to join the schools wider Pastoral Team in January 2025 on a short term, full time basis.
Your role will be to assist and support Key Stage 3 and 4 students with behavioural challenges and social, emotional and mental health needs.
To be successful in this role, you will need to show a commitment and enthusiasm to work with young children and their families, have the knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, a confident and positive approach, ability to uphold the schools behavioral policy, have excellent behavioral management skills and excellent communication skills.
This is a full-time, temporary post.
Key responsibilities:
- Working closely with the schools SENDCo and wider teaching team
- Provide 1-1 and small group support to students who have challenging behaviour
- Be proactive with encouraging and enforcing the schools behavioural policy
- Promoting student well-being
- Encourage learning
- Support in Inclusion when needed
- Helping students to overcome barriers to learning
- Providing general classroom cover when required
