Within this role you will support the HSE Manager by ensuring site operations are executed in compliance with HSE regulatory requirements and aligning with the overall strategic safety goals of the organisation. You will also have the opportunity to work with managers and supervisors to control accidents, limit risks to the health of employees and visitors, and limit the exposure of the company to health and safety risks.
Being able to advise on health and safety policy changes and propose necessary resolutions, coordinating with the HSE Manager to ensure these changes are strategically sound and effectively implemented is one of the many exciting parts of this role here at Vitacress.
Main responsibilities:
* Provide competent advice on HSE matters for the Salads business (and liaison with other Vitacress HSE colleagues to ensure a unified approach).
* Collaborate with all departments to ensure health and safety compliance during audits and visits, directly supporting the HSE Manager in these critical processes.
* Conduct and assist with accident and near-miss investigations.
* Lead the HSE Committee meetings, updating members on HSE related actions, news and information.
* Assist in the provision of collating and submitting information for Personal Injury Claims.
* Work with the CI & Training Team and the Learning & Development Manager regarding compliance training needs.
* Deliver training on health and safety policies, processes and responsibilities as required.
* Communicate with key stakeholders and contractors to promote health and safety.
* Complete administrative tasks as necessary, providing essential support to the HSE Manager in maintaining organised and efficient HSE operations.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels, as well as the ability to effectively deliver training and presentations.
You will require to have at least 5 years experience working within a similar role and ideally have experience within the food industry, although this is desirable.
A minimum of a NEBOSH General certificate or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety is essential.
