W Talent are now working exclusively with a fast-paced manufacturing business, located in Sheffield, who are looking to hire a Mechanical-biased Maintenance Supervisor to join their expanding engineering team.
The Role:
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of six skilled engineers, ensuring optimal performance and productivity in a days-based environment. This role involves coordinating daily maintenance activities, planning preventive maintenance schedules, and managing reactive repairs, while ensuring that all maintenance work aligns with health and safety standards. You'll work closely with the engineering and production teams to support continuous improvement and reliability in equipment and processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead, motivate, and support a team of six engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities, coordinating resources effectively to meet production needs.
Ensure all maintenance work complies with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Assist in fault-finding and repair activities, focusing on mechanical systems.
Work with management to identify areas for improvement and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Mechanical bias with hands-on engineering experience, ideally in a manufacturing or similar environment.
Proven supervisory experience managing a team of maintenance engineers.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
Knowledge of health and safety protocols within an industrial setting.
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across departments.
