Do you want an opportunity to work in a highly regarded, integrated multi disciplinary clinical team dedicated to supporting Sutherland House School?
We are looking for an empathic, creative and skilled band 6 speech and language therapist with relevant experience working with children and young people with autism and learning disabilities to join our team based at Sutherland House School in Nottingham. We can offer you multi-disciplinary and integrated service models of practice in a highly regarded and skilled team, CPD, and regular supervision.
Autism East Midlands offer a wide range of services supporting autistic people in Nottinghamshire and the surrounding area, including a range of day and residential services for our adult service users, a specialist school - Sutherland House School (4-19 years), outreach and family services.
The school clinical team includes Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and a therapy assistant.
We are excited to be in the position to expand the team in school and have the opportunity to permanently employ a Band 6 speech and language therapist. Annualised hours and flexible working considered.
You would be providing person centred speech and language therapy support as part of the schools on site clinical team. We work closely with education colleagues to support the progress and development of students in line with their EHCP.
This work includes:
* assessing communication needs
* developing systems of communication and programmes of intervention for a specific caseload
* supporting training in a range of topics associated with learning, communication, and autism and being involved in MDT meetings.
This post is ideally suited to someone who has some experience of evidence based practice in supporting children and young people with autism and learning disabilities and is looking to further develop their knowledge and skills.
